GETTING TO KNOW OUR NEW TEACHERS

We have a new science teacher this year, Miss Paola Sanchez. Her favorite subject is chemistry. She graduated from West Coast Baptist College with a Bachelors of Religious Education in Theology. Some of Miss Sanchez’s hobbies are playing the piano, watercolor painting, exploring new places, and trying new types of coffees. A unique fact about her is that she has traveled to many countries including: Panama, Philippines, China, Canada, and Mexico. Her life verse is Romans 12:9, “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” Miss Sanchez’s advice to the students is to fall in love with God and respect yourself. Come to class ready and excited to learn!

Timothy Edwards is one of the new teachers here at First Baptist School. Mr. Edwards graduated from high school as Salutatorian; he then attended Butte Community College and College State University and received 2 degrees. He recently began taking online courses at West Coast Baptist College in hopes to attain a Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies. Math is Mr. Edwards favorite subject to teach by far. Some things he enjoys, in no particular order, are playing basketball, snowboarding, wrestling with his kids, playing frisbee golf with his wife, and playing softball.

His family is his greatest joy; his kids may be crazy, loud, wild, and sometimes uncontrollable, but they bring much joy and laughter. His favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:11, “If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.”

His advice to the students is that school is by far the most important thing in your teen/early adult life. This is where you learn how to challenge yourself, push through adversity, overcome fear, and accomplish goals.”
